This blog is not only for sexual abuse victims. Fanda was rife with abusers and had a culture of abuse: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
We find especially damaging the abuse of the leadership (our spiritual leaders) who chose not to protect us at the time in spite of multiple abuse claims and who have still not repented nor sought justice for us today, 20 years later.
Finally, it's easy to say 'forgive and forget', but there are many of us who are still living with the repercussions of not dealing with these issues. If you have an abuse victim in your family realize that your loved one has been injured, just as if he or she had broken a leg that had never been set properly. Even though the person can walk and may have for the most part forgotten about the injury, true healing and true strength cannot return until the injury is acknowledged, the bone rebroken, and the leg set correctly.
